With hormonal changes and onset of menopause many women are faced with the dilemma on what to do to treat the area. With DMK Alkaline Wash hair removal system we are effectively able to remove hair anywhere on the body, but it is specifically designed for fine facial hair. This type of hair is very difficult to treat with electrolysis because it is usually dense, the follicles are so small and it involves a great amount of time. The advantage of Alkaline Wash is that it is possible to remove large areas of hair in one treatment, with no downtime or discomfort.
DMK Alkaline Wash is an alkaline powder that is mixed into a paste and then applied to desired area for a short period of time. The time depends on the courseness of the hair. The treatment is not like regular depilatory hair removal creams, it is of a much higher pH, which aims to swell the hair shaft and, as it dissolves the hair, some of the solution enters the hair shaft, damaging and weakening the papilla which the hair grows from. This aims to reduce hair regrowth.
After the first treatment hair will grow back at it’s normal rate, but as treatments progress the rate of regrowth will lessen, usually resulting in a reduction of hair growth.
