What is beta glucan?

Beta glucans are natural cell wall polysaccharides (sugar) found in yeast, fungi (including mushrooms), some bacteria, seaweeds and cereals. They possess many wonderful effects on human health including skin regenerative properties, which are involved in revitalising immune cells in skin and renewal of collagen-producing cells. As well as strengthening the skin’s ability to deal with adverse environmental effects and promotion of anti-ageing and anti-wrinkles outcomes(1).

Why is it important?

The key ingredients of Beta Gel, support Langerhans cell health, which is your skin’s in-built immune system) making this product perfect for compromised skin or those that have experienced superficial trauma or need pre/post-operative assistance. Beta Gel also supports fibroblast cell activity which is responsible for collagen and elastane production – making it particularly helpful as an antioxidant to shield against environmental onslaught. This especially being the case in Australia and New Zealand.

Oxidation naturally occurs throughout nature and in the case of our skin it is predominantly caused through the creation of free radicals (at a cellular level) when skin is exposed to UV trauma. Antioxidants like beta glucan assist to protect skin by limiting the production of free radicals, which can attack and damage the skin’s cells. They can do a lot for the health and appearance of your skin, including reducing the signs of ageing, calm inflammation and improve healing.

Beta Gel contains potent antioxidant and free radical scavenging properties which assist your skin to look and feel its best and most vibrant.
